Hellman Auctions Ltd holds two public auctions every year and each sale offers 2000-2800 expertly described lots. Auctions include always a lot of worldwide postal history, mainly in intact lots and collections and also as single items. Foreign section includes lot of collections and lots mainly from estates. Every sale has a strong selection of Russia, Baltic States and Finland in various sections. There are both large and small lots and looking through the sale will give you an opportunity to find many interesting and unusual items.
Hellman Auctions is a well known subsidiary of Philatelic Service of Finland (SFP Group). SFP Group has a staff of 7 full-time and several part-time employees. They are the largest stamp auction company in Finland and one of the largest in the whole Northern Europe. Hellman Auctions has a history of more than 20 years in arranging public auctions in Helsinki and SFP Group also arranges five online sales every year. Philatelic service of Finland is a member of ASDA, IFSDA and ASCAT.
The auction includes as always also a lot of worldwide postal history, mainly in intact lots and collections and also as single items. Foreign section has a strong part of Russia (lots 949-1142). From Scandinavia we can highlight Sweden (326-397) with many beautiful items like 3 Skill:bco and Värnamo 55 öre superb used. Island (490-533) is well represented with several top items in very fine condition. There is also a good selection of Great Britain and Commonwealth (576-621), China (649-658, 2772-2775), Germany with Colonies and Occupation 2WW (726-895) and Estonia (lots 1143-1326). The sale also includes nice untouched collections from Norway, Denmark, Gilbert & Ellice Islands, Latvia, Romania, Hungary and from many other European and worldwide countries.
There are also several top items of Finnish philately available in this auction; 50 items of the 1856 Oval issue (1340-1390) with extremely nice and rare covers and singles both 5 and 10 kop. Also the third largest group with a strip of three and a pair of 10 kop on a cutout is offered (1366). 1860-66 section has many nice covers to abroad, including a rare wrapper with 8 penni to Italy 1875. From the 1875-85 issues we can introduce several tête-bêches which have never been on the market before. The whole variety of the philately of Finland is included with sought after varieties and many remarkable lots and collections. Last but not least we can mention four rare items with Zeppelin 1830 error: single, a pair, block of four and block of 12.
We also have a wide offering of numismatics including interesting items from Finland (1-232) and Russia.
